From Michigan to Kenya: A Kindness Club’s Gift That Changed a Girl’s Future

Last December, a remarkable act of kindness brought together two communities—half a world apart—in support of a young girl’s future.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated 7th graders of the Spring Lake Middle School Kindness Club in Spring Lake, Michigan; their leader and Spring Lake teacher Tammy Kuhlman; as well as the entire Spring Lake staff and families, for their incredible efforts in raising $3,684. Through the sale of our products and individual small donations, this compassionate group turned generosity into life-changing opportunity.

The funds raised will support Lucy Namunyak Kipkuro, a 7th grader living in a remote Maasai region of rural Kenya. Lucy is an orphan who lives with her grandmother in an area where resources are scarce and access to education is often uncertain. Without this support, Lucy would not have been able to continue her schooling beyond Class 8.

Thanks to the Kindness Club’s inspiring initiative, Lucy’s school fees, boarding costs, transportation, and other educational expenses will now be fully covered through our Enkisoma Education Program until she completes high school. This support ensures that Lucy can continue her education and pursue a brighter future.

To the Spring Lake community: thank you for believing in the power of kindness and for helping us continue our mission of educating girls and empowering women. Your generosity is not only changing Lucy’s life—it is helping build a stronger future for generations to come.
