Empowering Future Leaders: Naserian's Transformative Experience at the THABITI Summit

In April 2025, over 150 teenagers from across Africa gathered at St. Andrew’s School in Turi, Kenya, for the inaugural THABITI African Youth Leaders Summit. Rooted in the Swahili word thabiti, meaning "firm" or "stable," the summit aimed to inspire and equip the next generation of African change-makers. Participants engaged in hands-on workshops led by international youth coaches, mentors, and community leaders, focusing on topics such as problem-solving, project management, mindset development, and community engagement. Each delegate was tasked with launching a community project, supported by six months of post-summit mentorship.

Thanks to the generous scholarship of Coach Ben Africa (https://coachbenafrica.org/), Naserian, a high school student in our education program, was able to attend this transformative event. Her experience at the summit was life-changing, and she extends her heartfelt gratitude to all who made this opportunity possible.

"Hello, I'm Naserean. On 7th-10th April, I went for Thabiti Africa Yourth Leadership Summit. To be sincere, the camp was fun and more educational and motivational.

At first I learnt how to be outstanding as a leader and what a good leader should do honestly. I went there when I had no confidence in myself but when I attended the public speaking session I gained more confidence and more skills.

What really motivated me during the camp are this [sic] words "I WILL, I CAN, I MUST and IT IS DONE.

And the best leadership style was coaching. I learnt that a great coach should pay attention to his people [sic] ideas.

To conclude, for whatever I have learnt from the camp, I would like to start a project in the community and this will help my fellow youths to realize they are great leaders.

Thank you for all who supported me to go for the camp. I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart."

We would like to thank Dr. Rowshanak Hashemiyoon, Coach Ben, Coach Ben Africa, and all the dedicated individuals who organized this powerful event. Their efforts have not only impacted Naserian but have also inspired many other young leaders across the continent.
